We are all snow under the sun takes its inspiration from the expression “all that is solid melts into air”, drawn from the Communist Manifesto of Marx and Engels (1847-48). The sentence, we are all snow under the sun, is written in white letters on a black background on each sheet, in an edition of 100. Each page is a unique element, realized by adding a small percentage of black ink (1%) to the white color of the text. The progressive blackening of the sentence makes it less readable in each sheet, towards the complete disappearance of the text, that sinks into the black background. Throughout the duration of the exhibition visitors were invited to take one poster from the pile, until nothing was left.

The work was realized in the context of the group show Current signs (2018), presented in the Viennese art space das weisse haus and curated by Enar de Dios Rodriguez, a reflection on the current political situation, on language, and on the form of protest banners. The invited artists were asked to produce a work using the format of the poster, in an edition of 100 elements.
