Sisters is a series of 88 monotypes, realized through a process of chemical transfer on paper. Each element portrays a different replica of the Statue of Liberty around the World, only the first and second elements of the series are referred to the original monument; realized in Paris and then donated to the city of New York.
The last item is related to the copy of Ishinomaki, situated approximately 100 km distant from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant, in Japan. The statue, damaged by the 2011 tsunami, was photographed in 2013 during an excursion to the city of Ishinomaki, which took place during an artist residency programme in Japan. This experience became the starting point for the search for the other replicas.
